19. Envoi: The Power of Words, the Power of Books

In all our actions at the Faculty of Polish Studies we are constantly aware  that as researchers and educators we have a substantial impact on social life and the language competence of the speakers of Polish In undertaking our research and teaching activities, we embrace the social responsibility of academia. Many of our publications are available through open access, and when collaborating with foreign research centres, we follow good practices in doing research, sharing research resources and teaching effectively.

 

The textbooks, dictionaries and handbooks we publish have the power to make a difference. Our research on inclusive and plain language fosters social transformation. The observations we make in our research and the conclusions we subsequently draw facilitate the learning/teaching processes and contribute to the promotion of Polish culture throughout the world. We unceasingly work towards making language an increasingly effective tool for communication and influence, an effort further amplified by the activity of the graduates of the Faculty of Polish Studies. Neither do we lose sight of linguistic and cultural minorities and the commitment to educate Polish society about the achievements of other countries and cultures.
